Last weekend I choose to put down my riding hat and pick up my racing helmet for the last ‘Staffs and shrops’ Land Rover event of the year.

Thanks to a member of the club I got to navigate in the comp in Stone, it ran a total of 16 laps 4 in the day light on Saturday then followed another 4 that night and then finishing the rest of the following Sunday morning.

I started off running the course and by the time I reached half way of the first half  field I had given up and decided to take my chances with walking the rest of the 3 miles like any normal person.  I used alot of my showjumping knowledge to help tackle the course and how to approach  some of the bends which made a huge impact on the times we were getting in the laps.

I found that no matter what age or racing ability you were at everyone was happy to share their views on the testing course, I found this exstreamly brilliant as it meant I was able to learn more of the ‘fast guys’ way of racing and gain more knowledge of the sport itself .

Driver ‘Doug Laird’ and Navigator ‘Chloe Jones’ did finish the 2015 comp Enduro in one piece in 7th place in class 3.

Another achievement to add to my list.

A Thanks to ‘Staffs and Shrops LR club’ for some brilliant events run this year sadly it’s time to pick back up my riding hat for the rest of the winter.

Thanks for all reading.
