Some more overland campers
12 litre Maguris Deutch, they had to stop on the mountain pass from Merzouga to Zagora for his wife to throw up, he did 40km is low first on tickover and it was still shaking it self to pieces, max on road speed 40mph
A gaggle of Belgium & Luxembourg (ers 🙂 ) turned up in Disco 3’s and a 4, very brave! but makes a change from Toyotas and Mitsu’s
looks rather tidy like this, very neat.
A Toyota demountable waddled onto the campsite…just about. and four large people extracted themselves from it, very cosy I am sure.
with it came this Iveco, both from Stockholm.
He has had it 4 years bought it new, very nicely made . the door catches where very neat with magnets to hold them in place, unfortunately the covers cost 160€ ! the price for trick stuff and exclusivity, he was running cooper MT tyres, so after another conversation about Michelin XZL’s I realise that 400 GBP in the UK is not as bad as 600€ in Germany and very cheap against the 950€ they are in Sweden, he had a Toyota 80 before this and did a lot of travelling and off roading, he says this is not fun on the piste and never ever goes near sand especially cambers or even small dunes.
he indicated it cost nearly 200k € when new, but it had cracks all over the shell from most doors and openings, maybe looks good but not so tough.
he was looking for AT tyres to improve the on road handling because driving from Sweden is a lot of motorway, I am sure the Cooper MT were not up to the 5.5 tonne it weighed, I would be worried to even drive on the motorways he said he rarely goes over 80km/h.
