From Amboseli to Masai Mara
between Amboseli NP and the Maasai Mara is a lake called Magadi
I had researched this route along the Tanzanain border and into the Mara park and it was looking fun, when at the lake which is owned by Tata chemicals there is lots of confusion about entry
but we had no issues, all the land is owned by them and you have to sign to say that you are just passing through, If you want to go to the hot spings then..and this is where we are finding out the gotch’s you pay a consrvation fee to the locals
the hot springs are south of the lake and if you go around the south route you leave Tata owned territory and enter a private conservation area, call Shambole, for this, you must pay and if caught without paying god help you
we decided to pass on this as we had seen loads and loads of animals in Amboseli NP.
we carried on across the lake past the Soda ash mine and up a rough track, we decided to stop at an amazing campsite ( forced too, see next post)
very picturesque, the monkeys were very noisy fighting all night and it was very hot with no wind
